Today, the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Structure Wood Architecture (SAWA) and TAVICO welcomed a 20–member delegation from the U.S. Softwood Export Council (SEC), led by Ms. Rose Braden – President of SEC, together with architect Scott Barton-Smith, American engineers, and technical experts during their visit to the SAWA Showroom and TAVICO’s factory in Dong Nai.

During the working session, the delegation was introduced to an overview of the TAVICO ecosystem, toured the TAVICO factory, and visited the Western Wood Supermarket to explore wood products currently drawing market attention in Vietnam. The program also included discussions on potential cooperation between U.S. businesses and TAVICO, opportunities to apply softwood in furniture manufacturing, and emerging trends in structural wood development in Vietnam.

Representing SAWA and TAVICO, Mr. Vo Quang Ha – Chairman, and Mr. Adam Corral – SAWA Vice Chairman, shared insights on the potential of mass timber materials in Vietnam and the future direction of structural wood development amid the rapidly growing demand for sustainable building materials in the region.

In a thank-you message following the visit, Mr. Scott Barton-Smith expressed deep appreciation for SAWA’s spirit of cooperation and TAVICO’s strong development, noting Vietnam’s increasing interest in mass timber. He also expressed his desire to continue engaging and collaborating with SAWA during future opportunities in the United States.

This visit further strengthened the connection between U.S. businesses, TAVICO, and SAWA in the fields of softwood and structural wood, while tightening the relationship between American Softwood and SAWA—opening new avenues for collaboration in the near future.
