On 19 December 2025, Mr. Yasuto Takayama, Member of the Ehime Prefectural Assembly and Chairman of the Ehime Prefecture Forestry Association Federation (JFOREST), paid a working visit to the showroom of the Association of Structure Wood Architecture – Ho Chi Minh City (SAWA) and TAVICO Group in Dong Nai, Vietnam.

The Japanese delegation was received by Mr. Vo Quang Ha, Chairman of SAWA and Chairman of TAVICO Group.

During the visit, the two sides held a working lunch and engaged in in-depth discussions on expanding and strengthening cooperation in the supply of Hinoki wood from Japan to the Vietnamese market. Building on TAVICO’s ongoing Hinoki wood supply activities, the discussions focused on future cooperation directions aimed at enhancing scale, stability, and efficiency across the supply chain to better meet the growing demand for wood construction in Vietnam.

The exchange also covered technical requirements, quality standards, and the potential application of Hinoki wood in wood construction projects, with a shared vision toward long-term and sustainable development between the two markets.
In addition, the parties discussed plans for the “SAWA Go to Japan 2026” program, tentatively scheduled for late 2026, to be jointly implemented by SAWA and JFOREST.

The proposed 6-day, 5-night program is expected to include:
Visits to construction exhibitions in Japan;
Site visits to landmark mass timber buildings;
Working visits and site surveys at leading mass timber companies in Japan;
Networking sessions with member companies of Japanese timber associations;

Meetings and exchanges with timber associations, research institutes, and universities in the fields of forestry and wood construction in Japan.
The visit and discussions further reaffirm the practical and growing partnership between SAWA, TAVICO, and Japanese partners, while opening new opportunities for deeper cooperation in the supply of high-quality wood materials and the advancement of wood construction in Vietnam.
