On the morning of June 4th, shortly after the successful 9th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Construction and Building Materials Association (SACA) for the 2025–2030 term held on May 22nd, SACA organized an important working session with the newly established affiliated unit – the Ho Chi Minh City Timber Construction Association (SAWA). The meeting aimed to guide the implementation of strategic development directions in this new phase.
Attending the meeting were Mr. Dinh Hong Ky – Chairman of SACA, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoang – Vice Chairman of SACA, Mr. Ngo Hoai Duc – Vice Chairman and General Secretary of SACA, along with members of the Supervisory Board. Representing SAWA was Mr. Vo Quang Ha – Chairman of SAWA.

SAWA was officially launched on December 19, 2024, marking a strategic move to unite businesses operating in the wood industry, thereby forming a strong professional community capable of connecting and making meaningful contributions to the construction value chain.
During the session, SACA leaders shared key points: All affiliated units must operate under a new approach aligned with Government Decree No. 126/2024/ND-CP dated October 8, 2024, which regulates the organization, operations, and management of associations. This includes professional standards in association management, operational mechanisms, communication strategy, and event organization.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Dinh Hong Ky – Chairman of SACA emphasized: “SAWA has been established at the right time and in the right role – as an extended arm of SACA in uniting wood industry enterprises, a sector with great potential to contribute to green and sustainable construction. SACA will always accompany, guide, and empower SAWA to develop in the right direction.”
Mr. Vo Quang Ha – Chairman of SAWA, shared: “Since our founding, SAWA has received valuable support from SACA. Today’s working session is a great source of motivation, helping us strengthen our confidence and clarify the path ahead.”
This meeting marks an important milestone, not only reflecting the ongoing supportive spirit between SACA and its affiliated units but also representing the first step in implementing the new term – a term expected to bring about many positive and breakthrough developments in the construction sector, with the promising contribution of the wood industry.
